Pros

- Energetic company that has a passion for improving its employees both professionally and personally through daily group meetings, frequent extended advanced training classes, Q&A with senior staff, free training classes, after hours seminars, one on one shadowing and ride along training with senior sales staff and managers. - Double confirmed appointments are set by a high quality marketing team that cold calls businesses so the reps can focus on sales and have a solid starting point for each day to organize their day. Highest earning employees also pursue businesses on their own via door to door visits. - Travel costs such as one or two tanks of gas and excellent hotel accommodations are largely covered by the company when a representative chooses to work in a different market area / city and marketing focuses on lining up appointments for them in that new area. - Employees are not micro managed and employees can choose to work as much or as little as they choose too. - A draw is an option for employees that need a money to get started & is largely unneeded if business is pursued by the representatives and the company sales process is followed as they are trained to do. - A family type of community environment has been developed through a social networking / text style chat room, video conferences, and friendly group competitions that makes this sales position feel like a group activity. You don't feel alone when selling for Riverside. - Great opportunities for advancement exist and the company hires management almost exclusively from existing pool of account executives based on their merit, performance, and dedication rather than their college degree or interoffice politics. - Income is virtually unlimited in its potential if you work hard, work smart, and follow the process set forth in training. Employees that don't thrive are usually failing due to a lack of self motivation or a refusal to follow the companies training and ethical business practices. - I started at the entry level Account Executive position within this company and was promoted to Territory Manager after about a year of a consistent and solid income from the customers I signed which resulted in not only a fair upfront commission but also in a great residual income from the accounts I've signed. - There are a lot of perks often freely given by customers I've signed such as a deal on a vehicle I purchased, free food at some of the restaurants, free mechanic services, and a network of business owners that will help find referral customers for you because they are so happy with the service & savings Riverside provides them. - I get to travel if I want to and see places I could never have afforded or had the opportunity to go to previously. I can also make good money anywhere I go if I ever choose to move for family or my if my spouses employer requires it. For this last reason, the position is perfect for the spouse of an active duty service member.

Cons

- Study, Practice, and dedication to perfecting tonality and scripting is a must to see optimal success. - Not a job for those people not willing to put in that extra time to learn the material. - A commission paying job but I have found this to be a positive thing because it allows unlimited income potential and keeps me motivated to go out and help more businesses. Residuals take about 60 days to kick in but the upfront commissions pay very fast and make a monetary advance / draw something that's not needed after about 10 days. - Highly competitive industry that requires an ability to not take rejection personally and also requires the ability to approach each new appointment with a fresh mindset and positive attitude to be successful. - Requires self motivation to be successful and many people have found it difficult to self start. The company provides lots of encouragement but this job is a "must have self motivation" and "must have ambition" to be successful. - Most expenses are tax deductible but regular vehicle maintenance and some office supplies such as pens, a clipboard, and a phone must come out of the employees pocketbook before the commissions start coming in... I considered it the small monetary price for incredible success but some people may consider it in the 'Cons' column.

Riverside Payments Response

Thank you very much for your glowing review! The breakdown you provided for your job description and how positive the smaller aspects of your position are are definitely appreciated. Using the tools and training provided by Riverside to go out and master your goals takes a lot of self motivation, we agree, and unfortunately the position isn't made for everyone. But for those, such as yourself, that push themselves and trust in our processes here at Riverside, there's no limit to your success! We take a lot of pride in our programs and training for our agents. In writing your review, you took some issues that others may find to be cons and discussed how these are not necessarily a negative thing. Seeing the benefits in our programs and goals and in turn putting those into positive effect in your own daily goals leads to success. We appreciate that you are so determined and prepared to advocate for your position. You are a fantastic aspect to our culture and family here at Riverside.

Pros

Will hire anyone, so if you can’t find anything else, you could definitely get a job here.

Cons

If you have ever worked for a credible company in your life, you will start noticing red flags day ONE. This company is beyond sketchy. Save yourself some time, and keep looking for something else. You will feel let down if you buy into the butterflies and rainbow facade. Completely unprofessional and pushy company. The reason they push for a “one call close” is so that business owners don’t have the time to think of questions about the service. If any job is selling to their new employees about how great it is, and how much money you’re going to make, THEY ARE LYING. Keep looking, a better job is out there!
