Pros

Good salaries, nice 401K match, some generous holidays, some really talented co-workers, and some very interesting clients doing some really cool things.

Cons

No HR, abusive and obscenity-laced environment. Obscenities in and of themselves weren't the problem - the problem was when they are screamed at people. The CEO likes to brag about how she doesn't let her personal life bleed into the business. She is delusional. It hangs over every one on a daily basis. If she's having a good day, employees get to have a good day. If she isn't....each day was a roller coaster. You never knew when walking in what kind of day it was going to be, but you can bet if you received 20 FB messages on a Sunday through a private FB group, then Monday was going to be thoroughly awful. The CEO regularly questions employees about one another, and proceeds to gossip to each employee about other employees - including making up untruths. She regularly reminds employees how well-paid they are, and expects overwhelming loyalty and gratitude for it. Truly the good pay is the only reason many employees stay as long as they do, and deep down she probably knows it. One of the worst places I have ever worked.

Pros

If you're seasoned, there is a certain familiarity with the pace. The responsiveness of management staff is great with the freedom to allow you to try to make the impossible possible (which is what we do in this industry, no matter where you work). Clients are well vetted so you get to avoid many of the hassles that you would experience at the larger and the one-size-fits-all firms.

Cons

If you are new to this industry you are going to feel the pressure I think. I've seen some of the bad reviews, and can see where they've got the impression they did. There is noticeable turnover, and frequent structural change within the company. However, this is somewhat indicative of the industry in general. If you doubt your abilities as a professional OR swing to other side and are too overconfident/have an ego OR unable to go with the flow at hand - you are probably going to be stressed/unhappy. It takes a very specific type of personality to thrive in this field, and that seems to certainly be true within this company as well.
