Low tenure and a dangerous lack of knowledge at the mid to senior leader level in claims. There is a misguided belief that they have a culture of casualness (that they guard fiercely) but there is a difference between a healthy casual work environment that you would see in the tech industry or a typical start-up but wearing dirty t-shirts and faded baseball caps while eating a bowl of cold cereal during a meeting is just a lazy continuance of the early Covid lock down necessity. I was in shock at how little senior leaders knew about statutes and case law in most of the states they do business in outside of OH. In many cases it borders on gross negligence with their only saving grace being that, as a small company, they are not on the radar at the moment.
