Pros

-dog friendly office. -very data focused. -smaller teams gave individuals more opportunities to lead initiatives and have a greater impact on the business.

Cons

-over-worship of 'immediate' wins are often backed up by superficial analysis. The desire for shorter-term performance optics makes Rover a somewhat risk-averse company. I wouldn't recommend Rover for anyone seeking innovation and outside-of-the-box thinking in their next role. -rather top-heavy in terms of leadership versus employees responsible for planning and executing initiatives. -no 401K benefits -nebulous valuation of stock options. -poorly handled mass layoffs during pandemic.

Pros

Working at Rover has made me more appreciative over time, not less. Leadership is thoughtful, capable, and accessible. My coworkers are smart, curious, and genuinely good people—I learn from them every day. The team takes Rover’s values seriously and puts people first. The product isn’t perfect, but there’s real momentum to improve, modernize, and deliver more value to customers. It’s refreshing to work somewhere that does good work with good people, without sacrificing work-life balance to get there. I’m grateful for the experience—and aware it’s set a high bar for whatever comes next.

Cons

No workplace is perfect, and Rover isn’t an exception—but the downsides aren’t significant enough to be dealbreakers, in my opinion, especially if you’re looking for a company operating at our current stage and level of maturity.
