Pay is generally in-line with other departments. Equipment is generally just as good as the other departments. Not much out of pocket uniform expenses.

If you get severely injured or even killed, common in firefighting, Rural Metro does not offer the same benefits as those at municipal departments. Very sketchy handling of injuries at Rural Metro.
