Pros
I enjoyed working with the staff. They made me feel at home and were extremely helpful when I first started out. Most department heads were very open to ideas for improvement of patient care. I can say the same for working with most of the physicians. Most that I worked with were willing to grant me the autonomy to practice within my scope of professional practice.
Cons
Dealing with administration was extremely difficult. They are not open for change even when you present them with the facts and figures of ways you can help boost revenue. Also, the technology that is used is outdated and very inefficient. Most of the staff employed by the hospital had not seen a pay raise in quite a few years, yet there was no point in time when anyone in administration was willing to take a pay cut so that their staff could be appropriately compensated. Many times floors would have to be closed due to staffing shortages. I would personally not want to be employed by this hospital.
