Pros

Job security: you won't get fired unless you do something really wrong. Relaxed work: It's a public university, so you know that most people don't work overtime. Good work/life balance: free admission to university properties such as Gym.

Cons

The University is large and governed by the board. It's often hard to change things because they have to go through many processes.

Pros

co-workers are super nice, friendly and collaborative. Good flexibility in work arrangements. My immediate boss is nice.

Cons

Morale is quite low, and turnover is high. We are losing good people and goals are not being met. Senior Leader tell us to do more with less, and do not want constructive feedback. They don't lead by example, taking elaborate trips instead of being present and supporting staff. Rules don't apply to them. So disappointing, not what you would expect from a public university.
