Pros
Food benefit is really good, better than most places I've worked- free meal per shift, free drinks (most of them), and I believe a free pastry per shift as well. Closers can take more as some pastries can't roll into next day. Donate on your way home, share with roommates, etc. Owner is super sweet and down to earth, very present in the bakeries and accessible if needed. Management is also excellent. I worked in multiple locations to help with coverage and every shop has a good manager. Pay is good, listened to needs of workers and implemented a company wide raise. Care about employees progression in company, almost everyone I worked with was promoted from within. Some are hired directly into higher positions. Company events are really fun.
Cons
Covering other locations can be a bummer. I worked in the busiest locations down the street from my apartment. No commute, really good tips (an extra couple hundred per paycheck). Covering another location usually meant having to commute (at least one location doesn't have convenient public transport), and almost no tips. Huge loss in pay for the day plus traveling further means no one wants to cover these locations. This is the only con I can think of and it's somewhat petty of me to include as no one ever makes you cover another location, it's just a favor asked of you once in a while and it's 100% fine to turn it down. I will say that on the days that they absolutely need coverage for another location and no one has accepted yet, they should offer some sort of incentive.
