Pros
A great programme and introdutction to a clinical environment learning the knowlegde and keys skills required to care for incredibly important Labotatory Animals. The research taking place will contribute to saving the lives of countless human beings and animal species in the future and this research must be done by law. Travel is paid for and there is a great supportive team. Recieving training from S3s partners, Kings College London, UCL, and Imperial College London I receieved the best training and confidence enabliing me to become accredited as an Animal Technician in only 6 months. In this industry there is a huge need for Animal Techs and there is a good starting salary as a trainee with weekly pay! There are also massive career progression opportunities such as Senior Animal Techs and Management staff which can result in a really impressive salary. Ultimately, everybody involved really cares about the animals involved and have completed numerous animal welfare courses to ensure the animals welfare is at the top of the agenda and s3 ensure they only train peole in this role who have already expressed a huge respect and empathy for animals and a desire to work with them and improve their lives.
Cons
8AM starts, sometimes manually hard, but very rewarding work. Cant take animals home!
