Pros

Free food and transportation Good salaries if you negotiate well while joining If you are good in politics, you don't have to work ever

Cons

During interview discussions there were a lot of mentions of Cloud technology, tough problems to solve, you can choose what you can work on etc. So, naturally I was very excited to join Ariba. After a few months this is my overall experience with the company. Most of what they say during interviews are lies. You will not come 100 miles near any cloud technology during your day-to-day work. It is mostly proprietary junk technology which has no relevance outside Ariba. Downstream (one of the worst teams) work will be nothing but bug fixing. CSE is pure bug fixing, where are mainline is mostly fixing tough bugs (which might take many months). Every single piece of work is pure pain. There are two main characters and one joker whom you have to please at all times. If not, you are under peril. They create elaborate schemes against you which will beat the crime detectives featured on Discovery channel. Most of the good people have left the company. You can still find some people who are good, but they are too acclimatized to Ariba and earn too much money to move out. Senior Management which is supposed to create a good culture in the company is not doing its job. It has let vested interests take over the reins of individual divisions, thus creating poisonous atmosphere.

Pros

Good Learning environment Helpful colleagues

Cons

Since most are on visa, you may've to compete with them on completing certifications on every quarter. You'll be restarting your career once in every six months once you are assigned to a new client.
