Pros

There are no pros to this job, unless you enjoy walking around Philadelphia trying to save people $5 a year on electricity.

Cons

In your first few weeks at SES you will notice a couple of things. The first is that although they advertise themselves as a marketing job they will actually have you doing door to door sales at strip malls without any leads whatsoever. The base salary equates to about 8.50 an hour and commission will vary depending on if they give you a good area where people will actually want to change their electric provider. Do Not Be Fooled! This is not a marketing job. Also most of the promotions do not include a pay increase, it just means you will have to come into work earlier. The job is 48 hours a week on the first week but within 3 weeks of getting there you will most likely be working more than 53 hours a week for that same 8 dollars an hour with no commission raise as well as having to spend your time helping to train new employees instead of focusing on your own sales. On top of that they will give you random nights were they tell you that they have company events that are pretty much mandatory that will take up probably five more hours a week of your time.

Pros

I worked as an intern in the Summer and Fall of 2017 at SES and it was a very fun learning experience! The way the management interacts with the rest of the employees garners a spirit of team work. The people working at SES are enthusiastic, organized and sharp. During our training they explained to us how goal driven the company is and it gave me some perspective to focus on my personal goals and take action to work towards them. They value and respect the female opinion, I believe that's what drives an all women HR department, in the company, who are very helpful and form the back bone of SES.

Cons

The job doesn't give you room to be lazy.

Pros

Wonderful environment. Great staff. Everyone is incredibly encouraging, and I can definitely see the potential of sticking with this company long-term. Room to make good money if you are good at what you do.

Cons

Dictates your entire week. Insane hours. While working is a mix of being in the office, working with customers door to door, and having meetings in different bars, the total time required to be dedicated to this job is 60+ hours a week. You will have to work Saturdays, stay late for meetings on Mondays (adding up to about a 12-hour day), and show up to all office events (bars on Thursdays for example.) There is almost no wiggle room as far as having a life. If you are an adult who needs to do shopping, meal-prepping, or laundry etc, that will all be done on Sunday leaving no room for recreation (And even then, there are mandatory conference calls at night). It is also very important to know how delayed the checks are. I didn't know going in that I was going to have to go an entire month without a check. Training is also unpaid, though you do get a 275 bonus within your second week of training if you meet the requirements.
