Pros

They know how to hire great people. Your colleagues will be fun and make the experience tolerable. Decent clients that look good on your resume.

Cons

Where do I start? From the constant emotional and mental abuse, to the late and early morning emails and lack of guidance from your supervisors, it will make this experience not only a nightmare but crush every ambitions you had to be a publicist. During your first month the senior staff will be so kind to you and make you feel very welcome. As your time at the company progresses it’s all downhill from there. You will be constantly demoralized and told how worthless you are. Micromanaging is not only the culture here but a hobby for your supervisors. When told you will be owning something, you actually won’t be. These are some of the most sad, miserable people I have ever encountered. The senior staff seems lonely and can only interact with people in the industry and not have any true friendships or relationships outside of their work. It feels like being in a catty sorority that you want to disaffiliate with after dealing with a self-detrimental hazing process. Just mean mean girl attitudes. Being mean gets you no where and hurting people is not a good look. You aren’t cool and you are losers. If at some point you were cool - that ship has for sure sailed. Don’t work here...if you end up taking the job...you have been warned. I hope we never meet so I don’t tell you “I told you so.”

Thank you for sharing. As an agency, we are committed to rigorous honesty and transparency, and we reinforce open communication. Unfortunately, there seems to have been a perceived lapse in this case. While SHADOW is indeed not the place for everyone, we’re sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. We welcome all employees to provide feedback and voice concerns via the many resources available to them here and through an open-door policy. We would have loved to have heard from you! We wish you the best of luck in your search for the right company fit.

Pros

- The agency works with top brands across beauty, tech, retail, beverage, and more, which means there are some truly incredible opportunities if you’re ready to work hard and care about the craft. I was able to work on my dream clients and campaigns, moments the world saw and felt really exciting to be a part of. - The agency is made up of insanely smart, savy, dedicated, creative people who are not afraid to go against the grain. I was able to learn a lot by just being around them on how to push ideas further, manage teams, and think about culture, media, and storytelling in a new way. - The agency's pace and variety of projects/clients gives you the chance to work on things you might never expect, which helped me grow quickly and gain experience across multiple areas like team management, creative, and media.

Cons

Like many fast-moving agencies, there were occasional busy periods that required some extra time to keep projects moving forward.
