Good place to start - Mechanical Engineer SMP Engineering (CA) Employee Review

Since 2022, I've had the privilege to see the company grow from about 36-38 employees to 60-65 now in real time. The owners of SMP are open to hearing out employees concerns and suggestions. Even some I've had myself as I work closely with them. I love that this company is a self-management environment; they trust that our employees are responsible to get here on time and to complete their tasks on their own without micromanaging. If a manager is talking to you, then you know you're doing something wrong. I look forward to continue my years here at SMP!

The front parking lot is getting packed as we hire new people.

-Very fun, creative, and challenging work -No unnecessary micromanaging if you provide quality to your work and don't hyper-exceed due dates -Respectable environment with allowance to bring your own vision to projects and make things you are proud of -A nice team to work with, virtually all co-workers are so helpful from the purchasing manager who gets things done to keep your project on track, to HR who is always available and helpful regarding almost everything at the company, to coworkers who are always open to give advice or a helping hand on a project, to the owners who always have an open door and ear -Great place to learn and grow -Social time set aside every day along with delicious snacks provided on Fridays and special occasions, also have had many BBQs and lunches to celebrate exceptional work from whole team

Not as many holidays off as other places I have worked PTO and Sick Leave are accrued over time, rather than provided upfront
