Professionals playing out high school clicques & favoritism - Inpatient Therapist SUN Behavioral Health Employee Review

Pros

Helping the patients through their challenging time.i found it rewarding but was hard bec we as therapist weren’t allowed to speak with those 1:1 who begged to talk w me, but only during group sessions

Cons

For those who are “sensitive”, and can feel/see energy - each floor had a different “charged” energy that in hindsight might not fully be from the patients, but more from the residual stuck energies left behind from when it was a (hourly) hotel. While that might read or sound weird,, if you get it, then this is my way to say stop & consider…. I dunno what’s changed over the years but hoping it’s a better place today bec I was so excited 😆 to work there. I hated getting called out by my director bec a tech or nurse would report when a patient pleaded to talk w me and I’d give him/her the time. I wear told “it’s out of your lane” but umm no- licensed counselor w a masters degree.

Pros

Pay is probably the highest I’ve found in the area. Night shift was chill and laid back Night shift supervisors were amazing :) Getting to help this type of population

Cons

Management - “C” Suite. Every. Single. One. They will fire you for no reason and have your job filled the next day You are only a warm body to them Day shift staff are extremely hard to work with… they have no team work Policy and Procedures change hourly I have seen I believe 5 different CEOs/C Suite employees since I’ve started Working short staffed which makes for a potentially dangerous shift Techs act like they are higher than a nurse. We do not really help anyone, we are treated like a hotel and will admit almost anyone just to fill a bed for $$$
