Plenty chances to take onsite courses to learn new skills. Professional work culture. Opportunities for advancement. Great benefits from flextime, telecommute options, health care, stock option and stock purchase programs.

Cons

Movement of training department from VA to IN decreased the training opportunities for VA employees. Possible because Sallie Mae purchased a company in IN and that company's management became a majority in Sallie Mae management. Movement of headquarters from VA to newly acquired office in DE caused a smaller VA office when it led to layoffs. Management of company in DE became a majority in Sallie Mae management. The move was also possibly because VA politicians voted for the Federal Government to service federal loans instead of Sallie Mae. These loans were very profitable for Sallie Mae.
