Pros
relaxed, friendly co workers, old vegas locals vibe, I really liked it. I respect the original owners from the story's I heard about them from the staff that have worked there for years and years.
Cons
The downside of working here was the beverage management they take the guest complaints as fact without even talking to you, you are wrong and the guest is right even when the guest are lying! Example the guest says you were ignoring them, the supervisor will tell you you need to pay attention to them however that guest was never there when you did your round supervisor believes the guest. Co workers take big time advantage of FMLA to the point that the job becomes a burden. definitely favoritism here with scheduling, schedules can change within a few hours of starting the next week even if it's been posted for a week as an example: I was scheduled swing shift for the week while I was at work I got a call on the beverage phone to check my schedule before I go home come to find out they completely switched me to grave without any notice when I was supposed to work swing the next day. They will change the schedule when you are off I should say (on-call)then call you and ask where are you? Mandatory over time without asking they will just tell you that you are staying, I was told by one manager to not go to HR or the general manager to talk to them 1st if I ever have a problem, now I've never been told that at any job before but after working here I figure it's because they don't want HR and the General knowing what's going on I maybe wrong but these are my thoughts, I've heard of steps but ultimately most places I have worked have a open door policy you can go to who ever you are comfortable with but not here. Typical sever drama most were chill to be honest but it does exist and the self proclaimed supervisor. The clientele is pretty bad it's the boulder hwy so night shift is shady scary at times a lot of free drink hustle, boulder hwy clientele falling asleep on the slot machines, its constantly happening I know the camera see's it as well. everyone quits on call very high turnover. it honestly becomes too much between management not knowing how to read guest, the schedule and clientle it wasnt worth it but i do miss the job and the relaxed vibe the place can have. Oh table games close early during the week so forget making tips off of that if you work grave. management can be lazy as well so lazy that they won't even show the new employee the employee entrance. lunch is 1 hour but it's split 2-30 mins on swing/day shift. I believe who ever is behind the curtain is trying to end Sam's town, Sam's town used to be the place to be and still has a lot of potential but they are ruining it on purpose why? Idk but it's happening the company is losing big players and keeping the ones who don't even play. Don't let me forget that horrible 1 stitch unbranded uniform.
