Pros
Company is based in San Diego so the weather is nice
Cons
As of December 1st, the current state of the company is disheartening: -Departing on good terms seems to result in undeserved consequences, even for longstanding members who have consistently demonstrated hard work and respect. Contrarily, individuals leaving under negative circumstances have been disproportionately rewarded financially. -The company is facing financial challenges, evident in the absence of any profit, and the promised bonuses from the CEO are non-existent. The lack of a legal department or HR further exacerbates the issues, leaving employees without necessary support structures. -Promotions seem to be influenced more by one's ability to appease their manager rather than actual merit. The once-permitted "work from home" option has been arbitrarily revoked, creating an inconsistent policy among employees. -A significant number of valued team members have departed this year, and their positions remain unfilled. -Despite assurances of a bright future, the company has removed various benefits this year, including bonuses or on-site catering. -The management team's collective "week off" intended for improvement has worsened the situation. -Employee efforts are recognized with trivial rewards like "pizza, a star, and a hug" rather than meaningful incentives. -Monthly all-hands meetings resemble a school setting, with employees randomly assigned to read slides, diminishing the professionalism of such meetings. In summary, the company has completely derailed its positive trajectory, betraying its earlier reputation as a vibrant and supportive workplace. Formerly motivated and collaborative employees now witness a massive decline in morale and overall satisfaction. To those contemplating leaving Sapient, the sad advice is to consider leaving on bad terms with management, as it appears to yield more favorable outcomes. The way things are now is quite different from the promising and united workplace we had when the company first started.
