      Amazing company for remote workers - Senior Associate Schellman Employee Review

      Pros

      Overall, the starting PTO and 401k benefits are fantastic and improve quickly over the first five years. The corporate culture invests in workforce learning and development of technical skills. Employees are encouraged to share experiences to improve the company and each other. The CEO and leadership conduct great weekly and monthly communications to remain connected with a remote workforce. Schellman also has a sincere passion for diversity. The leadership recognizes an ingrained passion for diversity is not just the correct moral path but lifts the whole attitude and shared compassion of the workforce.

      Cons

      Schellman has grown rapidly over the past few years. Rapid growth and managing culture are a challenge for any organization. Some older employees may have a challenge adapting while some new employees may get lost in the growth. Still, the leadership appears to be working hard to invest and manage this growth.

While employees are able to use more PTO than earned (can go negative 40 hours), our leadership team will review this in more detail for additional areas of improvement.       Pros

      Management frequently improves benefits. Management really knows the business well. The company has historically been well insulated from economic downturns. So many opportunities to stand out and make a name for yourself

      Cons

      Data driven decisions still a work in progress. Long term vision is likely 1 ish year.

      Pros

      The people. Peers are great to work with and very supportive. Some of the leaders in the teams are as well. Perks were GREAT but have slowly been taken away or the costs went up.

      Cons

      Where do I begin? Wholesale executive turnover. Technology projects that we're supposed to say are awesome but aren't really that great. They take up more time to figure out than they're worth and we know those are meant to take our jobs. AI, offshore, temp labor. No thanks. It was a place I loved working at but has slowly just become a job that makes me feel like I should be watching for somewhere else to go. Just in case. The culture has changed quite a bit too. It used to feel like a place where we all wanted to work together but that's slowly fading.
