Pros
If you get a good manager, and you're an engineer, or in the "family circle," you'll be fine here.
Cons
Poor management and paranoid distrust are recurring themes at SEL. You'll start drinking the koolaid during the week-long oriendoctrination. They will preach noble concepts like quality, cross-training, and employee ownership. Then you will find out that production speed trumps quality, employee owners get zero say in company decisions, and everything is dictated by the CEO (who recently cashed out his stock). Alpha-dog engineers and yes-men move up to top management, and fly around in wasteful corporate jets. Fear, distrust, and retaliation keep people quiet. A 'Security' department screens messages and spies on employees. Friday lunch meetings are misleading cheerleading sessions. New buildings sit empty and unfinished. Progressive, independent thinkers need not apply.
