Pros
Friendly non-management staff
Competitive pay
Remote
Cons
Scoop is a revolving door for developers and management only exists to light a fire under you until they eventually lay you off for poor performance. You are not an employee to them, you are a means to getting things done and they will treat you as such. Employees are often laid off with no notice or warning and with no little to no plan in place for the rest of the team in their absence. If you slip or make a mistake it will not be a learning moment but the beginning of the end of your role at Scoop. This is true for multiple recent lay offs.
Company is stable at the customer side but a complete mess on the dev side. Hiring contractors and random roles to fill the gaps in their ever-changing structure. Growth is not an option, collaboration is minimal to none.
Management will micromanag and expect clean, scalable and fail-proof code in minimal amounts of time. Management makes decisions seemingly out of nowhere and does not consult the team at all. Management is not friendly and often has a passively aggressive tone.
Overtime is expected but not asked, not performing overtime when a task is behind, even if it is out of your control, will be punished.
