Mileage Will Certainly Vary - Medical Scribe ScribeAmerica Employee Review

Pros

Access to clinical hours with no certifications and with flexible hours.

Cons

Training may be insufficent for the workload you are required to take up. The job is ultimately dooable but I would recommend thinking critically about how this job will fit into your other responsibilities. Shifts often went one to three hours over and the mental drain from working in an emergency department can be much different (and greater) than working in a different setting (e.g. family practice). It is also shift work in the emergency department, so sleep quality inevitably took a hit.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We truly value that this is a great opportunity for those looking to further education by going to Medical School/PA School/etc. This is why being a medical scribe is such a great experience as you really do get to see firsthand how medicine functions, which is something you really can’t get from other jobs or volunteer work. Depending on the area you work in, we always recommend working with your direct supervisor to determine if you are able to be cross-trained in a different specialty of medicine, or at another facility.
