Pros

This is a fun job! Your role, literally, is to ensure the safety and satisfaction of the guest experience at T-Mobile Park. In other words...your job is to make sure guests have a great time at the ballpark. It's ideal for outgoing, professional, and helpful people. Most Game Day staff are retired individuals who love people and the Mariners. Many in the Premium seating sections are retired teachers, administrators, managers and some C suite retirees.

Cons

The turnover at the top of the Game Day operations management the last two years has resulted in declining morale, feeling like they are penny pinching on basic things, not keeping promises by mid-level managers, and in general not working efficiently or collaboratively. Lack of emphasis on The Mariner Way has resulted in missed deadlines, late in providing resources essential to the positions (handbooks, uniforms, etc) and overall lack of respect for staff who have held part time positions serving guests for up to 20 years. It's too bad, because even if the team isn't doing as well as we would hope, you've always had a great time at the ball park because you're being assisted by people who love their jobs. And many of these people have had tremendous professional experiences in life, upper level executives, managers, etc. They may be retired but they certainly don't deserve to be treated like they don't know anything or are incapable of making decisions. Hopefully this management team will find their stride, but it's hard to feel real positive about it.
