Pros

Can listen to music. Get your own cubicle. Office experience to put on your resume.

Cons

They don't follow their own policies. As soon as they put an eye on you, there's a target on you. I've seen people be fired while providing a doctor's note. They take full advantage of the 'right to work' law in VA. It doesn't matter what minuscule infraction you may or even may not have done, they will fire you simply because they feel like it. Management feeds off of drama and causes over half of it. They will mass email one mistake and use it to talk down to every employee in the company, all while putting a spot light on someone's error. Many of their ways of operating are illegal and bank on the fact that they do not pay their employees enough to get a lawyer. Favoritism is the crappiest downfall and you will be bullied if someone higher up just doesn't like you. I've seen them stand behind someone who is working and trash talk them in third person, just daring them to stand up for themselves and 'cause a problem'. Upper management is all family and close friends. Doesn't matter if they are not a good addition to the company, bullies, or are even incompetent. CEO's have obvious marriage problems that gets dragged onto the work floor. They bring in dogs that use the restroom on the office floor. The owners of the building have told them to cut it out but they don't even listen. I've seen team leads sit at their desk crying because of the cruel emails they receive from upper management. Overtime is just mandatory flat out. It doesn't matter if the workload is caught up and clients are sitting happily, they will make you come in on the weekend, holiday and bad weather when plows haven't been sent out yet, all because they have the power to say so. And the 'benefits' are unaffordable and are offered through someone in upper managements own family.

Pros

This company is by far one of the best companies I have worked for. Overtime is available most of the time. The benefits are great. 9.9 times out of 10, you get the time you request off for. Easy work once you get the hang of it. If you show up on time and get your work done, you wont have issues. I have watched this company grow in the few years that I have been with them, change is difficult for some people, as noticed in the reviews. I'm happy to be part of a growing, thriving company like Securitec! I thoroughly enjoy my job and the people I work for!

Cons

not really the company per say, desk jobs just require a lot of patience if you have trouble sitting for long periods of time.

Pros

Securitec is the nationwide leader in the background screening industry, dealing with hundreds of clients and vendors all over the US. There are plenty of opportunities for employees to advance with the company. Training and retention of employees have been a focus over the past year with great results. All departments have been restructured and reorganized with different members of management, including more team leads. Training is a 6-week process with a very structured program, a classroom environment, and mentor trainers who work one-on-one with trainees. An experienced Director of Human Resources has streamlined company policies for clarity and consistency. Employees are expected to have good typing skills, be able to work with dual screens, have the ability to work independently, and respond well to deadlines. The team concept is strong throughout departments, but the company recognizes that personal time management and organization are integral to the success of its employees. Securitec treats its employees well with medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401K matching plan to 5%, paid time off, personal time, short-term disability, life insurance paid by the company, and a gym membership. The dress code is relaxed so employees can be comfortable while working in their cubicles. Use of music via headphones or earbuds is encouraged so people can concentrate and be productive. The company pushes a work-life balance with limited overtime. Previously, there was required overtime, but that’s been phased out.

Cons

Prospective employees who cannot sit at a computer for long periods of time may not be a good fit for positions within the company.
