Pros

Direct managers were not only some of the most informative and supportive that I've ever had, but were just generally great people that truly cared about the employees they oversaw

Cons

Unfortunately, my direct managers were pretty much the only positive part of the job. First off, not everyone is given equal opportunity. Though I did really well during the seasonal period during which I was hired and was offered a permanent position, after starting slow as a core agent I got placed in a position where I barely received calls and the quality of the calls was abysmal. This ended up with me being pigeonholed into essentially a completely different role that didn't have near the earning potential of what was repeatedly promised for months beforehand. On top of that, incentives could not get commissions straight, which is obviously the most important part of a sales job. Of six commission checks I received, four were incorrect, and not by a small amount either. After having to fight the incentives department, three of those were corrected. On my final commission check however, I was shorted a very sizable amount of payment, and when I tried to argue the matter, they simply said that their records showed otherwise. Basically they changed their books to omit about 1/3 of the commission I earned in my last month with the company, and on top of that, I had my own records which matched up perfectly with the system records my last day of work. When I tried to recover my own records after I left (as at this point I expected them to somehow try to short me on payment), I was not allowed to log to get them. I wonder why... I had several colleagues have similar struggles with their incentives department, and the fact that they get commissions incorrect so frequently certainly makes it seem like these are not mistakes but very deliberate attempts to underpay lower level employees and help their bottom line. All and all, it ended up being a very negative experience. From the pay being far less than expected, to the opportunities available being far narrower than promised, to simply being subjected to repeated attempts to not pay earnings, I simply couldn’t ever recommend anyone work for this company. It is a massive shame too, because again my direct managers were amazing individuals and I couldn’t say positive things about them. Upper management, and the company as a whole, however, simply seem to care about the bottom line, regardless of how much they preach about wanting a “family-like” culture.
