Pros
Having worked at Semly Pro, right from its formative years to a little until mid of last year, I have had the absolute best experience! After having worked on the execution front of Digital Marketing for a long time, when I joined Semly, I really wanted to explore a more strategic front of the field. And I am glad they gave me that opportunity. Things that have stayed with me: 1. I was able to see their growth - started by two very experienced Digital Marketing and Design professionals who were doing well in their respective careers, I never for once saw arrogance or unethical behaviour from them at any point. I remember our discussions in the initial phases - “We can take a pay cut, but the vendor fee shouldn’t be delayed.” Thats the kind of people they are. And I am glad we became a family of sorts. 2. I went through a bout of ill-health and they were like a second family to me, supporting me through it all. Once I started recovering and wanted to get back to work, they insisted that I work from home. 4. I got the opportunity to train absolute fresher trainees and make them prepare for their permanent roles as Executives. This gave me that much needed experience of being a manager. These are wide-eyed youngsters, and training them was such a huge responsibility. You have to shape them and their futures 5. What the Founders were always particular about is taking up only good quality projects. Which is probably why we worked with big brands and government agencies, right from the start. 6. They insisted on hiring few, but quality resources at a time, as a lot of focus was given on training and mentoring, each person Had it not been my decision to take a sabbatical, I would have continued working there.
Cons
1. Distance to the workplace from where I live 2. Strict action against gossip among employees should be in place.
