Encouraged to help people work on their skills and achieve their goals. Big impact on the lives of the people you look after - job satisfaction. Relationships. Lots of training. Get to work as part of a big team. Great for sociable people who like trying new things and are confident.
Cons
Is a lot of responsibility - giving medication, following guidelines, paperwork, updating paperwork, risk assessing. All part and parcel of any social care provider but not for everyone. Can be challenging so need to be patient and understanding. Some people come into the job for the wrong reasons. If you cant put the person you're supportings needs before your own then it isnt the job for you.
