Pros

Team building was important in the Marketing department. Often times we met for drinks or dedicated a day to team building or brainstorming exercises. Benefits are great and they are very LGTBQ+ friendly and open.

Cons

A solid 75% of the company are middle aged white men. Diversity is not the companies strong suit, however I have experienced no discrimination when looking through applications or sitting in on interviews. They want people with the best experience, but often look for people who will fit within the environment. If you are not in a management position, they simply do not have the money to pay you even industry standard. And your pay feels even worse when the president is flown to and from Portland weekly on the companies dime and rents an apartment in the pearl. Don't be fooled by the brand new Bentley Continental Number 9 Edition, they won't pay well, at least not for you. Many people are 'let go' because they challenge the brand, or ask for direction. The company has been around for over a year, and they still do not know who we are selling to and who to market to. (lots of) Money is spent fast and for ridiculous things. They would much rather pay to be at the top for 5 minutes than build brand loyalty and a brand that people want to be a part of. Also, if you work at HQ, you get the good coffee, the good snacks, and free tea/soda/water. If you work at fulfillment, you pee in a trailer and are provided a vending machine if you want to pay for a soda. Lastly, every 90 days there are a round of layoffs because that is when investors come into town and tell the board they are spending too much money and cannot afford our paychecks.

Cons

Building the ship while they fly it. But not bad if you like the rush.

Pros

The people I met while working here was the best take away . Also learned how NOT to run a startup business .

Cons

Toxic “start up” environment . Values sales over being transparent to consumers/valuing employees . People in upper management roles have self inflated titles . No clear company goals , therefore constant mismanagement of funds , vendors not being paid .No clear direction from upper management . My supervisor was constantly switching back in forth between two different people whom had no clue how to manage people under them . Don’t expect to get any training on how to do your job . If your a hard worker and don’t know your worth , they might keep you around for a while .
