Pros
This company has missed a great opportunity to help others and turned it into a money grubbing operation
Cons
The people you will be managing make as much money as you do except you are responsible for the performance of a 21 person team they have little to no accountability. There is no background checking, nor drug testing so the company attracts the worst of the worst. Upper management supports the worker bc if they leave, the site will lose money. For every dollar Serco pays a worker, they charge the government 3 times that amount. The unfortunate outcome is zero backing from your bosses. If a worker accuses you of wrongdoing, YOU will be investigated (they will not, so truth is scarce in these situations) but as the investigation proceeds, if you are not guilty of the accusation, they will find some other infraction and try to fire you over the new found flaw. There is little support from upper management and zero mentoring or career development. The last promotions that happened for a supervisor at Serco happened because they fit a specific racial demographic. Also, every supervisor that has been terminated from this job has been over 50 years old. The company exists to rape the government of money. They are cunning and everything from phone calls to email is recorded and under constant review
