Pros

Laid back environment. Flip flops, Shorts, and T-Shirts are the standard dress. You can take time off if you need (mainly because the owner frequently disappears for weeks at a time and never keeps up with what is going on.)

Cons

Pay is less than half of the lowest level industry average. Post Probationary Raises promised during interview process will never be given. Work environment for a Datacenter IT Technician can frequently include non-job description duties like moving, renovating and reorganizing the owners houses and storage units. The owner buys luxury cars and toys, frequently vacations all over the US, Canada, and Europe, while his employees make $8-11 an hour for jobs that start anywhere else in the industry at $20-25. This company also may put off the impression that they are large, but in fact there are about 3-5 people total at any given time.

Pros

Ive learned a lot from work with this company. The culture here is great and I always get along with all of my peers. The nice thing about working here is the flexibility that I am given to work on specific tasks and meet deadlines. Working at ServerHub for several years now I feel that I have grown professionally as well as personally and have made a lot of good friends along the way. Everyone here gets along and enjoys working with each other. One of the most rewarding tasks is learning about server management and new and emerging technologies. They keep the fridge always stocked with goodies like snacks, sodas, waters, red bull you name it. Also at the datacenter has free coffee and you name it Sodas from the soda machine. The other cool thing is the ability to go on trips. As long as you complete your tasks, you are often invited to conferences which usually entail going to San Diego, Denver, Austin, Chicago or wherever the latest cPanel or HostingCon conference is, its a huge plus since travel is something that really excites me and is a great perk.

Cons

- management has high expectations - sometimes you have to wear multiple hats depending on the department - You have to be a self starter and highly motivated due to the training structures in place
