Pros

Good health and retirement benefits, 401k and Roth matches up to 6%. Decent bonus structure depending on which store you manage.

Cons

Long hours for managers. Salary only pay for managers. Minimum 48 hours per week to get full salary. Typical 55-60 hour work weeks with no overtime Example I was off only 2 days this past October. Difficult and severely antiquated operating system to learn, especially for new employees. Severely understaffed store. My last store was almost $4,000,000 sales per year and I had a total of 5 employees including myself. Complete disconnect from upper managment to the store level. Increased focus on diversity hires and people who can speak Spanish and English regardless of their qualifications. Zero loyalty to tenured employees. Prefer to hire younger, cheaper college graduates , put them through a 6 month training course and send them to manage multi million dollar stores without adequate training or knowledge of the business. Ridiculous and unattainable sales and expense budgets( which is how you get bonus) 20-30% sales and gallons increase year after year. Ever since covid pandemic and supply chain issues company has regressed as a whole. Store managers are micromanaged by supervisors that are totally out of touch with reality of how things are on a daily basis.

Pros

Leadership training, flexible schedule if your store has the necessary staffing, 401k match

Cons

If you don't have staffing then you are required to work weekends consistently, Sales calls requirements keep getting higher and higher, incompetent corporate leadership. Pay is based on 44 hours worked weekly for assistants(48 for Store managers; leaves room for less work/life balance
