Pros
I've been very impressed with the caliber of individuals who work at RIC and their passion for both the patients and research. They are making strategic investments to ensure the organization keeps growing, including a state of the art hospital and they are not afraid to reinvent themselves along the way. My manager has been incredibly supportive and allowed me to build something new within the organization. My role is very entrepreneurial and I have loved how receptive everyone has been to my recommendations. The past year has been a lot of fun!
Cons
Many employees have been here for years, which is great for institutional knowledge, but also can be a challenge when you are growing and changing. I often have to challenge the status quo and get push back when I ask why something is done the way it is done from staff.
