Pros
Competitive salary and benefits. Diverse group of coworkers and good people. Usually a fun place to be. About once a month there's a small party thing with food provided. Also there's a new weekly pizza+beer event on Tuesdays from Product team to share what they're working on. Tons of PTO.
Cons
Right now is a bad time to be a Dev or QA, which is odd as we were doing fine just a few months ago. Technology managers have committed to unrealistic deadlines and everyone is taking the heat for it. Overtime is expected, there is no time to focus on quality of deliverables, just need to keep churning out features into production as quickly as possible. Everyone is burned out and nobody is happy. Not looking forward to coming into work. There is no time to improve processes and learn new things. Bad work/life balance. We were on the right track with Agile early in the year, just started seeing some benefits, and then totally fell off the wagon. Back to waterfall! Which is a shame after all the effort we put in learning Agile in 2014. People feel like they are either going to be fired for underperforming or are getting fed up and thinking about looking for new places to work, especially with the uncertainty caused by the recent acquisition.
