Pros
I say a dying breed, as it seems most companies popping up are about quick and dirty results, fast as possible. And SideFXs slow and steady approach has build one of the strongest foundations in the industry. This company has shown why putting customers and your product first, brings profits. And putting profits first, loses customers and your products suffer. I can count on one hand all the companies I trust to build a sound and complete software, and SideFX is among them. I knew this before coming onboard, and being here has only cemented this outlook. Pros: -Product comes first for everyone. -Real trust from management for their employees. -True passion and excitement for customers and clients. It's kind of adorable how much admiration this company has for its customers work. -Flat company structure enables people to do their best work. A great balance of structure and freedom. -Very inclusive team. -Company structure is fantastic, and transparent to employees -Houdini family!
Cons
Not really a con, but there are so many missed opportunities, because Houdini touches so many markets, and the team is only so large. A great, and respectful Hybrid work culture. However, seems many new roles don't seem to be embracing WFH employees, so many great candidates could be overlooked. Seems like a common corporate issue for studios return to office, trying to find the balance.
