Pros

Most of the staff is good to work with, you can learn a decent amount about ophthalmology and helping the patients is nice.

Cons

Management bends the rules or changes policy when it suits them. Hardworking employees are taken advantage of, more is expected of them while favorites tend to do the bare minimum and it goes overlooked or is accepted. Too many unqualified people are put into positions for the wrong reasons. They claim to care about staff, patients and the community but it is not genuine, it's completely for show. A very unprofessional place to work.

Pros

SightMD offered opportunities to contribute to meaningful projects in the healthcare field, helping patients connect with quality eye care providers. The marketing and digital teams were talented, supportive, and genuinely collaborative. I appreciated the ability to lead SEO strategy initiatives that directly improved online visibility and patient engagement. The work was challenging, and I was able to apply both technical and content SEO skills across a large, multi-location organization.

Cons

Unfortunately, the company’s recent decision to eliminate positions without any advance notice was disappointing and unexpected. A group of us were informed in a same-day meeting that our roles had ended immediately—no two-week notice or transition period. This sudden decision left many of us shocked, especially given our ongoing projects and commitment to improving performance. There also seemed to be limited transparency from upper management about long-term plans or restructuring efforts, which made it difficult to anticipate or prepare for changes. While middle management and team-level collaboration were strong, communication from leadership could have been clearer and more considerate.
