Pros

Working with great people Customer interaction Great Managers that care about you

Cons

Severely understaffed and with that comes overtime, working almost every Saturday, and no lunch breaks (Simmons would bring in catered lunches) No room to grow at certain branches. Hard to grow as there was little to no opportunity in the city with Simmons, also because it was so understaffed they did not want to let you loose from your current position. Multiple 10 hour days a week depending on staffing. Clear separation from retail and loan/lenders side.

Pros

Simmons Bank is a great place to work if you value positive intangible employment characteristics including but not limited to: work/life balance, low stress, competent management, co-workers and stakeholders that are easy to work with, aversion to rising benefit premiums, high stability and back office job security, and overall positive corporate culture. If you want to easily tolerate or even enjoy your job, but also want to leave work at the office, Simmons Bank can acquiesce.

Cons

Simmons Bank is conservative in the corporate sense, and is not typically on the bleeding edge of compensation for those working as individual contributors in the back office. However, one can easily earn a more than honest living (or better depending on the department).

Pros

Small enough company that you can talk to leadership and voices matter. Culture used to be great. Lots of middle management understands the obstacles employees face and fights for the better.

Cons

The entire company is centered around Arkansas/Little Rock/Pine Bluff. There are other markets with massive opportunity that are always getting ignored. Everything is looked at through the lens of how things are done, ran, budgeted, ect in LR. Lots of recent change has caused a lot of bankers to leave and start looking for jobs elsewhere because they’re tired of lack of leadership.
