Pros
You will meet good engineers and good people here as colleagues. The work has its ups and downs, and although it is generally dull, it is to least demanding enough to pass the time.
The pay is good (but not worth it).
Cons
I could never be bothered to write a review after leaving, but seeing a recent review sparked me to add my voice to the discontented. Maybe it helps someone like me to not step in the trap.
First and foremost, the CEO is a total liability to the company. He is condescending, controlling and a narcist. He deploys the usual charming on one day, horrible on the next tactics to try and control employees. Carrots are dangled and whips are cracked. I have never worked at a company where so many people get fired / rage quit / or bite their lip until the get a chance to leave. I met so many good engineers that had their spirit and self-confidence completely broken before moving on. If he could just learn to let go and let the excellent people that work for him do their thing, it might be a better workplace.
The senior leadership serve as his echo chamber, because no one ever stood up to him while I was there, and no one ever addressed the issues that the employees brought forward. It could be that they've realised that he is incapable of change, but so doing have become stagnant bobbleheads, waiting for a big payout when SM gets sold? I don't know really.
