Pros

Great perks in-office, competitive salaries

Cons

I was at Slalom for 2+ years. When I joined, my team was relatively small but very welcoming. Back then the company was very eager to grow and make its presence known in Toronto, and Canada for that matter, since it was the first Canadian office at the time. But as time went on and growth seemed inevitable, the culture of putting employees first seemed to fade. I was the only new hire for almost a year, and then the team size doubled in the span of just a few months. Projects went from being well organized and meaningful, to a mish-mash of staff augmentation and incomplete teams left to fill multiple roles (many projects sold with no Solution Owner/Project Manager). My end at Slalom just a few months after successfully addressing performance issues that were brought to my attention. I was told I improved dramatically and to just keep doing what I was doing. Little did I know that the decision to let me go had been made and no other attempts to help me prevent it were brought up.

General Manager, Slalom Build This is Joel Forman. Thank you for the feedback. This surprised me, as we have gotten great feedback from our Toronto team on their experience and careers in Build. I would love to connect with you on this as I care about everyone's experience, and want to better understand these specifics where you feel we could have done better. Also, want to see if there is anything else I can do to help and support you. Please send me an email at joelf@slalom.com and we will setup a time to connect.

Pros

-Work life balance -Supportive co-workers and leadership -Remote flexibility -Great benefits -Opportunities to learn and grow

Cons

-Started to take a turn in 2024 with layoffs - becoming like a lot of other consulting companies -Got rid of a lot of perks/get togethers, etc. which is understandable given how the market went, but they really started tightening budgets which meant no bonuses/salary raises for a while
