Pros

Benefits are great and you can accrue a lot of PTO

Cons

Ideas aren’t taken seriously, there is favoritism, lack of innovation, an environment that is surface level about DEI work and caring for its employees.

Pros

Supportive culture, mainly because of my immediate manager. Nice environment. With only a couple of exceptions, faculty was wonderful.

Cons

Upper leadership: The mindset that "the prestige of working at Smith" should make up for the low salary runs contrary to the equity-signaling. $41K as a salary for seasoned support staff is absolutely not sustainable. I hated to have to leave a job that I liked in every other sense. I got along very well with my supervisor and the culture among my peers was very good. I hated having to give that up. The salary was the only reason I left and people forget it's the primary reason people work. Had they paid a living wage, I think I would still be there. My boss hated having to retrain, re-onboard, etc., but she had little control over wages.
