Pros

Great Team: The company is filled with talented and genuinely wonderful people who are passionate about their work. Many have been with the brand for years, contributing to a strong sense of community and expertise. Legacy and Customer Connection: Snow Peak has a rich legacy, and its customers are incredibly dedicated. You'll often hear heartfelt stories from people whose lives were positively impacted by the brand, and everyone seems to have a personal tale about their own Snow Peak setups. Diverse Work Opportunities: Working at Snow Peak USA often feels like being part of a startup, with a wide variety of projects and responsibilities that keep things dynamic and engaging.

Cons

Leadership Challenges: Leadership often lacks a clear sense of direction, frequently pursuing priorities that don’t have a meaningful impact on the business. This can create a lack of focus and hinder progress. Misleading Communication: My experience with some executives involved multiple instances of broken promises about compensation and promotion opportunities. It felt like there was a lack of transparency, which led to significant frustration. Disconnect from Daily Operations: There is a noticeable gap between leadership and the day-to-day realities faced by employees. Many in leadership positions seem to lack practical experience in the industry, which often results in unrealistic expectations and a lack of support for the teams on the ground. Stretched Too Thin: Employees are often stretched too thin due to a lack of support and an overwhelming number of projects. Team members are tasked with large-scale projects involving core business sales, Takibi Restaurant, the Campfield, and the numerous large yearly events organized by Snow Peak, which can lead to burnout and decreased effectiveness.

Pros

Excellent quality gear, the warranty is actually honored, and the knowledgeable staff is exceptional!

Cons

The prices certainly match the quality, and the limited reduced-price items are few and far between.

Pros

- Excellent co-workers, everyone who works middle-management or lower are great humans who care about each other. Many of the managers will fight for their team. - Cool product and culture, lots of perks from working at a business that owns a luxury campground and restaurant. - Lots of opportunity to learn new skills, internal promotion is big here and it's easy to move up.

Cons

- Management constantly bends the knee to the demands of Snow Peak Japan, and the Japanese management doesn't understand the U.S. market or business needs. - Can be difficult to get the support you need from other teams. Teams can be very siloed and communication isn't always the best. - Many employees are asked to do work outside their title or job description, often there is no adjustment in compensation. - Turnover and burnout has been high the past few years as the business has struggled to find it's balance.
