Pros
The other front end staff are friendly, customers for the most part are nice. The work itself isn't that bad when it's quiet. That's about it honestly.
Cons
Managers are awful with scheduling shifts and honoring your availability. They either give too many in a row or give you 1-2 shift every two weeks, don't listen when you try to ask for more/less shifts, and will go out of their way to schedule you on days you can't work then get upset for saying you can't work that day. They get upset at students for not being able to work on days that are filled up with classes. They told me and other coworkers that our availability during school isn't acceptable while claiming to understand that classes make it impossible to be there most days. Even after explaining you have classes those days they still say it's unacceptable and try to lecture you about it, even though there's nothing I can do to change it. If you call in sick even just one time they will bring you to the back office, lecture you, pry you for any and all medical conditions, then tell you to think about whether you should keep working there or not. I got sent home early once because of an asthma attack then got in trouble for it the next shift, even though they told me to go home and said it was okay. They only have one courtesy clerk on the floor at a time and expect them to do basically everything you could possibly do in the front by yourself, then get upset when you fall behind for being clearly overworked and overwhelmed. All while being paid minimum wage with absolutely no chance of getting a raise. Almost broken down countless times because of how overwhelming it gets. Managers do nothing to fix any problems no matter how many times it's brought up.
