Pros

Very little pros. I guess the only pro I can think of, given the standard, is that they are not too picky with who they employ.

Cons

After moving to a different organization, I’ve come to realize just how soul-crushing and demoralizing my experience was at this charity. There are several aspects that make it a nightmarish place to work. Firstly, the pay is downright insulting given the hard work put in by the staff. Despite countless promises from the CEO to address salary concerns, there has been no meaningful action. The shock of discovering that the CEO's salary skyrocketed from £100k in 2020 to £121k in the last financial year—while the management team scraped by with a paltry 2% increase—is beyond frustrating. Another major issue is the promises made to commissioners, guaranteeing objectives within unrealistic budgets. This leaves management in an impossible position, forced to perform without the necessary resources. Adding insult to injury, the bid writer, who should be pivotal in these projects, remains comfortably distant, rarely, if ever, visiting the sites we manage. It’s infuriating to think that public funds are being funneled into an organization riddled with such issues. The only solace I find is in knowing I’ve escaped and no longer have to endure the endless frustrations this place brought into my life. Payroll is pretty much a joke, getting paid the right amount is often an act of divine intervention rather than competence. Processes with HR are incredibly cumbersome. The training is not great. The culture is not great either
