Pros

LEARNING ENVIRONMENT: From a technical perspective, if you are willing to learn on your own, you can pick up quite a bit of knowledge. It's largely going to be an up hill battle as you will be at constant odds with other departments, given departments across the board are under staffed due to the pay issues and increasing workload from the turn overs. Still, if you like teaching yourself new things and have thick skin, you will pick up some interesting things.

Cons

PAY: The review from June 16th seems a little engineered. "It's hard to say what industry standard is across the many diverse divisions Socket has". That sounds like the Marketting department is active on Glassdoor. Wording seems kinda targeted. So, let me clarify this as anyone working in IT knows titles can be deceptive. Business Center Analyst is basically the WAN equivilent to the title of Network/IT Specialist you would see on LAN. The biggest concern, as you can see from reviews here, is pay. The starting pay for an Analyst is $12/hr. I'm not sure where the $14-$15 under Salaries came from, but I have a few guesses. That averages to about $23k a year for Business Center Analyst. Average pay for Network/IT Specialists is about $28k-$30k a year. So, roughly $14-$16/hr. That may not seem like much of a difference at first looking just at hourly, but you are looking at $7k+ gap in salary. A gap that you aren't going to clear in years with a $0.10-$-0.25 raise every 6 months. WORKLOAD: That feeds into the workload problem, as most people are going to find a better paying job elsewhere with a little time and effort. So, staff will at most only ever be around 50% of what is needed. Since the work isn't going away, the analysts are normally stretched to breaking point. TRAINING: Remember how I said "learn on your own"? Workload is compounded by a lack of experience or training. You will be handling CCNA/CCNP level material with a brief 2 week introduction. If you have either of those, you probably aren't going to applying to begin with.
