Fast-paced and unnecesarily high pressure - Senior Software Engineer Solace Employee Review

Flexibility in schedule- I make my own schedule and work remote. There is a good support system from Solace administration and other healthcare advocates. Definitely great job for self-starters. It feels good to help people get access to care and create better quality of life.

If you're new to this type of work, it can be a learning curve. The healthcare system is broken and frustrating so it can be a frustrating job to try to support patients because of that. The company is great but the job itself has it's challenges, so it's a good job for someone who can roll with the punches and get creative on problem-solving. Obtaining access to communicate with healthcare teams on behalf of patients has it's challenges but it's worth the speed bumps to help the patients. But honestly, if it can be challenging for us nurses to help advocate for patients, imagine the frustration and discouragement the patients are experiencing trying to do it on their own. Any frustrating experience I have with providers/etc. I realize my patient is experiencing times 10, so it makes it worth it. You should be good at managing your own time and are organized to do this role well.

Highly rewarding in terms of working with patients and families. Remote, “flexible” work hours (however, if you have a full-time day job or don’t have availability during typical business hours you are highly challenged to execute action plans for your patients in a timely manner) They operate on an agentic AI assisted platform which expedites documenting; however it’s “Hey Siri” like functionality is the sole resource on a day to day basis for an advocate as there is no visible reporting structure.

Zero upward communication or leadership to turn to on a day to basis. **Beware** - regardless if your performance and patient care is exceptional, please know there is no grace period for learning…the three strikes and you’re out rule in the Advocate Playbook is serious; regardless of the supposed “appeal” process when you receive a strike. Solace seemingly relies on their platform to provide and calculate the the vague, non-specific advocate slap downs Big no-no’s include rescheduling a new pt visit and not submitting documentation accurately/per policy; regardless of nuanced situations. This is a binary platform in that the platform makes the decisions which are only Yes or No in terms of the business rules Solace has programmed - again, there is no human lead to turn to to explain complex scenarios (ie, “grey” area”. So, in order to meet their platform’s rules and not get flagged, as a licensed practitioner you have to choose between what’s right for the patient vs being flagged. Finally, the pay rate for the level of intensity and complexity of patients and exorbitant case load is very unbalanced comparatively.
