Pros

Pay was market-rate. Solera is most likely a stable employer. Decent equipment (standing desk, Thinkpads). Gym membership reimbursement.

Cons

Direct work problems: Bad knowledge transfer from hostile employees who's office is/was closing. There was negligible training on the product or processes (there aren't any) and shaming when you make mistakes due to this. Zero was invested in the success of new employees. Extremely limited requirements and documentation for engineering projects. Everything was a fire. Code deployments to different environments were from 8pm - 2am up to 5 nights a week, and this was not mentioned in interview process. One of my direct peers I worked with daily was incompetent. Company problems: This is a company with a major, major culture problem, and I don't really think they care, or see culture as a fundamental key to their success. Low employee morale. Very little diversity in their workforce. They were consolidating many west coast offices into South Jordan, and while any transition of that scale is going to be tough this one was a disaster for new and current employees. I can only speak for the specific team I was on, but none of this is hyperbole. The majority of my team of recent hires has moved on. I spoke with hires in other departments and they expressed much of the same. Proceed with great caution.
