No 401k matching No performance management and career development Hiring takes forever and it seems like everyone in the company needs to interview and approve any hires Its a 7 year old startup lead by founders. Go into it knowing this. As with many many many founder run startups it's very high pressure and not very "HR Friendly". The culture is volatile and its not clear the founders know where to go next. People are hired and fired it seems on a dime. If you can handle this type of instability ok. If the goal of the VC is a sale exit, then they should seriously consider all options to getting to that sale. Including bringing in a real C suite.
