Pros

Somewhat laid back. Don’t have to dress up. Sometimes dogs in the office.

Cons

Cliques. 12 days of PTO that also count as your sick days. If you get sick and are out for 3 days, you only have 9 days you can use for your vacation that year. Management will target you if they don’t like you. They say they want you to ask questions, but then they make you feel stupid. No direction. Very little training before throwing you to the sharks. Tasks that are mandatory change weekly it seems. No clear expectations are given prior to hiring. Underpaid for a job. They bring you in cheap.

Thank you for taking time and reviewing SCW. I'd like to address a few points you mentioned and extend an opportunity to speak over the phone. We truly value hearing from both current and past employees. You are correct that SCW offers every employee just over 12 days of PTO annually. Our PTO policy is set up to ensure customers, partners and fellow employees get the level of service they’ve come to expect from us. It's also important to note however that in addition to PTO we work closely with our employees and offer company approved paid leave when appropriate. Secondly, I’d like to address the “cliques”. We strongly support our employees becoming friends and strive to make our environment inclusive. As a result, employees form a bond over lunch, during breaks and after hours. Strong friendships are something we encourage and I am sorry you didn’t find that part of our company culture enjoyable. Although I understand your opinion, I also know these internal friendships have no bearing on management’s ability to make decisions. Lastly, we agree with you…respect is earned and we wouldn’t demand it from anyone. All of our employees work hard and genuinely start every day with the best intentions. I welcome additional feedback and you’re welcome to call or email me anytime. careers@scw.com Thank you.

Pros

SCW has made major improvements in training this year. Also, connecting the teams and growing together. Last year was a bit rough to be fair, but changes have been made that have helped immensely. The group here are amazing and work well together.

Cons

It would be nice to have some 401k matching. Also, if the insurance costs could be less.

Pros

It wasn't so bad when I started, but that was almost a decade ago. There were a couple of coworkers I liked, but outside of that, everything about this company is terrible.

Cons

Where to start. I worked there for almost a decade. When I started, it was perfectly fine. The former team was great, the former CEO actually valued employee happiness. I still think about those early days fondly and wish that it had stayed that way. Then a few years ago, the owner decided he wanted to take charge, and everything has been on fire since then. Every person that made working there bearable left mere months after his new reign. And it is a reign, because this guy thinks he's a king. He constantly berates and belittles every single person who does not agree with him. If you disagree with him, he will threaten to fire if you if not just outright fire you. He told a room full of female employees that we need to "raise the young men," there as though we were their mothers or wives. This man is so far out of touch with reality he thought that was an okay thing to say. He only listens to and respects the opinion of male employees, but only then just barely. And only then if he's talking to them about how he could "still take a 25 year old," which he was overheard saying when he left his office door wide open one day. If you're a woman and you disagree with him or anger him, it is his express goal to be so cruel to the point of tears, and then he'll call you emotional. He had the security camera feed playing on TV's hanging in the office so we knew he was 'watching' us. He doesn't care about the quality of someone's work, only that he can control them. It does not matter if you get your work done and do it well, if you looked away from my computer screen for one second, he would go on a rampage. Doesn't matter that the work was done or done well. He made it perfectly clear that's not what he values, he values subservience. Also don't expect to be treated like an adult with thoughts and feelings. He hates that, and he will absolutely treat you like a child. In company wide meetings, he'd often say the phrase, "I surround myself with people smarter than me that can do the job," Yet, he isn't smart enough to listen to them. Some did want to change things for the better, but he will actively berate and put down their ideas and rally against them until they comply or left the company themselves. Again, he doesn't care about success, he wants to control people. This one man made working at SCW a living nightmare. He confuses fear with respect and doesn't realize not a single person there respects him, they are simply afraid
