First, thank you for the compliment. We are all human and don't always live up to even our own standards, but what you've said captures what I try to do every day. Second, I'm sorry that you don't feel mentored and encourage you to reach out. If you aren't getting a response from your direct supervisor, come to me, confidentially. Third, we are a growing and diversifying agency and change is both exhilarating and difficult. We need the leadership we have to help us reach our vision. If they don't always live up to expectations, they need to know, from you, what you need or nothing changes for you. We never want that. Finally, we model our pay and benefits after the 4As and rank in the top 20% of agencies our size when it comes to benefits (we check every year), and pay according to the the 4As salary survey taken every two years among 4As members. As you know, you can ask to see that survey for your job title -- we are happy to share. You are an employee owner of this agency. Please work to make it better by reaching out with your concerns in a forum where we can hope to do something about it. I hope things get better for you soon. We have a talented and committed staff.
