Micromanagement, poor communication, corrupt management - Technologist SpectraCell Laboratories Employee Review

Pros

Cannot think of anything good about this organization.

Cons

Everything was a disaster. Micromanagement, poor communication, corrupt and the list goes on. Management treats you like a number and drastically underpays you. They lie to you, they lie to each other, they lie to clients. The CEO is too involved in day to day operations and there is no real trust between leadership and employees. And don't ever expect a raise, that won't happen. I guarantee you will hate it here.

Pros

I truly enjoy working at SpectraCell. We've had our challenges over the years, but we've shared a lot of great moments and the challenges really bonded us closer as a team. I love and appreciate the employees!! Shout out to all the SpectraCell Family!!!

Cons

We've made many improvements over the years, but I would like to conduct small group trainings for the laboratory, at least once a quarter. It's challenging to organize trainings with the current setup.

Pros

You have a job title and a minimum pay

Cons

This was, without question, the most mentally exhausting and emotionally damaging work experience of my career. Leadership is deeply problematic. The company culture is driven by fear, volatility, and personal attacks rather than professionalism or strategy. Communication from the top is frequently aggressive, demeaning, and unpredictable. Public shaming, gaslighting, and emotional pressure are normalized, not exceptions. There is a complete lack of boundaries: unrealistic expectations, constant last-minute demands, and no respect for work hours or mental health. Employees are expected to absorb stress silently while being blamed for systemic leadership failures. Decision-making is chaotic and highly centralized. Priorities change daily with no accountability, and employees are often criticized for following directions that leadership themselves gave. Growth, feedback, and learning are not supported—survival is the real skill you develop here. Turnover is high for a reason. Talented people leave not because they are incapable, but because the environment is unsustainable.
