Pros
When I worked here I only saw 2 pros and those were Weekly pay and working with awesome people. Hard work will pay off in the long run, also advancement happens to the ones who work hard.
Cons
The downside of Speedway are these: 1.) You are pretty well on your own from the start, you do get to do some training on a computer but that doesn't really help much. You have to figure out where everything is. 2.) There are no employee discounts what-so-ever. No free drinks(If you buy a drink, no free refills either). No discounts on the cafe either. You will use your Speedy card on your own stuff so you rack up points rather quickly. 3,) Speedway has no idea what a break is. I would beg my shift leader or manager for one, and sadly most of the time I would not get one. Smokers tend to get breaks more often, which is not fair to the ones who do not smoke(Like me). 4.) If you managed to get a lunch break, you are not allowed to get in the Cafe, still have no idea why. Instead you eat in the back office, which most of the time is occupied by the managers(At one point I managed to get a break and had to stand up and eat it). 5.) Stocking the shelves and the cooler were actually pretty fun, until you have to change the garbage cans outside. The use the cheapest bags you can get, so it rips every time. Mine had a truck stop so truckers will put their urine in the bags, so when it rips, guess what gets all over you? You start out part time, which is fine, then you go full time. Unless you were me, who got asked to stay longer nearly everyday because they were always short(I was part time).
