Pros

The cafeteria downstairs sometimes has new options.

Cons

I rarely leave reviews, but people deserve to know what they’re walking into. The BDR organization at Steer has become incredibly toxic and unprofessional. Leadership constantly embarrasses and singles out low-level BDRs instead of actually coaching or developing them. There is blatant favoritism within the team. Two BDRs receive special treatment, constant attention, and opportunities, while the rest of the team is left behind with little to no guidance or path for growth. The lack of consistency and fairness destroys morale. What’s even more concerning is the turnover. A hiring class that started with around 20 people has already been reduced to about 6. That alone should tell you everything you need to know about the environment. The new manager has created an extremely uncomfortable culture. Instead of supporting the team, he comes across as arrogant, dismissive, and overly focused on criticizing certain reps while dedicating disproportionate one-on-one coaching to his favorites. There’s little professionalism and almost no constructive coaching for the broader team. There are no real opportunities to improve or recover if you struggle. Employees are not put on structured improvement plans or given meaningful support — people are simply fired seemingly at random. It creates a culture of fear rather than performance. If you’re looking for mentorship, professionalism, career growth, or stable leadership, this is probably not the place. If you do choose this new small start up. Make sure to smile and dial.

Pros

Company culture even in the remote space, opportunities to work directly with other teams (product, engineering, marketing), leadership is receptive to feedback

Cons

As with many growing organizations, processes and documentation sometimes lags behind rapid changes.
